The second night we unfortunately were in a... read more room beneath a couple who decided to have a domestic argument ALL.NIGHT.LONG. The guests were stomping slamming doors screaming and shouting and swearing. We attempted multiple times to contact the b&b owners to see what could be done. Despite phoning multiple times throughout the course of the night, they did not answer. We eventually phoned the police to make a noise complaint however the people making the noise could not be removed without the permission of the owners, who clearly did not seem to notice or care. Around 4am police told the guest to keep it down but he continued to stomp and shout until morning. At 7am and with less than 2 hours of sleep the owners finally called us back. They admitted they saw us calling and CHOSE NOT TO ANSWER, claiming they only answer if it's an emergency...which makes no sense as how could you know whether it was an emergency or not unless you answer the phone...?!? After explaining our absolutely terrible night to the owners they barely apologized and offered no sort of compensation whatsoever. After 2 days of my husband calling and trying to get some sort of compensation they eventually offered a $75 voucher to use at their b&b (which did not cover... We obviously refused because we had no future plans to stay in Fredericton and why would we want to stay at a place where we had such a terrible experience? The owners knew we were unlikely to use it, which I presume, is why they offered it. They are now screening our calls and refusing to answer the phone...again....sounds familiar.....
On summation your stay will most likely be fine but if you happen to be unlucky and have any kind of problem with your room or another guest don't expect ANY shred of basic customer service or any compensation from the owners.
